Blog Book

It has only taken me eight months, but I finally got all my 2008 posts printed in a book. I used Blurb and was happy with them. The book arrived late last week and I was so excited to open it up.

I liked that Blurb automatically slurps your blog and all pictures and spits it into a book format. You can, from there, arrange pages, change backgrounds, add more pictures, etc. There were a few things that were tedious, such as the cut and paste option. That seemed to take a really long time. I think they addressed that in the newer version, but I'm not sure. Also, there was no way to add the comments, so if that's important to you, you might want a different product.

In the end, my book ended up at 118 pages for about 15 months worth of posts. This year I have posted much more frequently so I'm sure it will be longer, aka more expensive. I'm hoping to print my blog every year since I use it as a journal. (I'm not sure the last time I wrote in an actual journal.)

See the fun backgrounds you can get? I love it and I'm glad I can finally check this one item off my list.

I'm linking up to Works for Me Wednesday. This is a great way to preserve your blog!

  2. Thanks for sharing this. I have wanted to be able to turn my blog into a book and heard there were sites that do it, but I'm glad to hear a review from a person that actually did it!

  8. Did you do this with your blogspot address? I was told you couldn't use Blurb with blogger. I was also wondering about the price. I would love to do a book like this every year to as a photo journal.

    Thanks.

  10. I made a Blurb book for my blog for Dec. 2006 (when I started my blog) through December 2007. I loved it! :) I want to do a 2008 book, but I just haven't gotten around to doing it. I totally need to before I need to do a 2009 book. LOL

  11. I've been working on this too ... but I've been using CutestBlogontheBlock - they offer a similar service. Wondering ... if it's not too personal of a question to ask ... how much did yours cost?
