Planting a Garden

A garden is a great way to enjoy fresh produce and a much lower cost than you can get at the stores. Here are the simple steps we have followed to enjoy a home garden.

Step 1: Purchase a house with land to plant garden.
Step 2: Determine where to plant garden, clear away plot, add topsoil and prep for plants.
Step 3: Purchase plants, leave on deck to die for a week.
Step 4: Plant said plants in the ground hoping they will still grow.
Step 5: Lovingly water daily.
Step 6: Forget the turn off sprinkler, flood basement.
Step 7: Frantically call neighbors at 11 pm to borrow shop-vac to move water in basement.
Step 8: Extract no less than 20 gallons of dirty water from carpet - after moving all furniture, unhooking electrical equipment, and staying up all night.
Step 9: Borrow industrial fans from same neighbor, pull up carpet and use fans to blow dry carpet and pad. Leave running for a minimum of 24 hours.
Step 10: Swear off gardening and leave plants to die. (ok, ok not really. But I question whether all this is worth it for 3 tomatoes plants and two peppers.)

See how simple and cost effective a garden can be!

Oh, wow! I don't even know what to say. That's awful. On the bright side, you won't have to pull weeds this summer!
